India's first and only HITS based direct-to-network service JAINHITS claimed to have attracted a huge group of local cable operators (LCOs) at its first ever state business meet in Chennai.
According to JAINHITS, most of these LCOs expressed their resolve to digitise their networks because they did not want to miss the advantages of the digital revolution including the transparent framework for running their business.
The dispute with the central government regarding DAS licence to the state-owned ARASU network is yet to show any sign of early resolution.
At the meet, senior members of JAINHITS briefed cable operators about JAINHITS’ services and offerings, highlighting its solutions for running fully DAS-compliant digital cable TV services.
Currently, JAINHITS offers over 250 channels including all major pay TV, and soon full-HD and multi-screen services will be made available to consumers. It offers dual-audio feed to seven channels namely Disney, Cartoon Network, Pogo, Discovery, History TV18, Animal Planet and Nickelodeon.
JAINHITS has also partnered with technology company ARRIS and satellite company Intelsat. With this, JAINHITS is all set to install over 3,000 mini downlink head ends across India by the end of 2014. Tamil Nadu with 32 districts will play a significant role in this drive.
