CQ- I & B organized social media workshop for govt officers

The New Media Wing of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting had organized a social media workshop in New Delhi on 11th July with the aim of creating awareness in the utilization of social media for government communication.
About 150 nodal officers from 59 Ministries/Departments participated in the workshop in order to comprehend the social media communication strategy for dissemination of information. 
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary I&B, Bimal Julka has said Internet is fast becoming a main stream, not just in the significant numbers but also in how fast it is seeping into the lives of the people of India. 
He emphasized on building up communication strategies targeted for masses keeping in view the Prime Minister’s vision of “Minimum Govt and Maximum Governance” for time bound delivery of government services. 
He has urged the ministries to utilize the social media communication hub established under I&B Ministry in order to enlighten the masses by delivering the messages through social media. 
The workshop was divided into four sessions. First session concentrated on transforming governance through social media, which focused on Listen and Engage Module of social media, it’s analytic and response management. 
Second session was a hands-on on twitter usage and it's speciality as a unique media tool to impart information on a larger scale. 
Third session was on Youtube, which focused on popularizing government videos through this platform and the importance of tagging for social engine optimization. 
The final session was on the blogs. The sessions covered the content generation in blogging for a comprehensive understanding of government policies and hence ensure better participation in the governance.
