Las Vegas, a leading provider of software-based video processing and delivery solutions, on 8th April has announced that Envivio Muse encoders have been deployed by MediaCorp for the Toggle service delivering over-the-top (OTT) TV to viewers in Singapore. The Toggle service provides free local content and subscription-based premium channels to Internet-connected smartphones, tablets, PCs, set-top boxes and connected TVs, either as live or Catch-up video assets.
MediaCorp is Singapore’s leading media company with the most complete range of platforms, spanning television, radio, newspapers, magazines, movies, digital and out-of-home media. Envivio and Village Island teamed up to install the multiscreen system, which includes Envivio transcoding and packaging solutions and a Village Island downlink reception system.
“The Toggle service offers an exciting new viewing experience to Singaporeans, bringing together entertainment, news and information delivered on any screen, anytime,” said Mr. Seow Yoke Kong, vice president, technology services of Toggle, MediaCorp. “For the downlink of 20 DVB-S2 live channels with redundancy, we quickly realized how the combination of Envivio and Sencore product quality, with Village Island’s optimum support, could help us achieve a perfect installation.”
