Airtel gets court approval to amalgamate Airtel Broadband with itself

Bombay High Court on 11th April has approved Telecommunication major Bharti Airtel request for the approval of amalgamation of Airtel Broadband Services, its wholly owned subsidiary, with itself.
The amalgamation will be effective upon completion of requisite statutory requirements. 

Airtel Broadband Services offers mobile, broadband and fixed line, digital TV, wireless internet and other services. It provides fixed-line telephone and broadband (DSL) services for homes as well as offices in 87 pan-India cities. Of the total 3.3 million Bharti Airtel customers, 1.4 million were subscribed to broadband/internet services as on 31 March 2013. The product offerings also include high-speed broadband. 
Digital TV services are offered to 8.1 million customers through direct-to-home (DTH) platform (Airtel Digital TV). The company currently offers 373 channels and services, including 15 HD channels and six interactive services. 
Bharti Airtel, the New Delhi-headquartered company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, is ranked among the top four mobile service providers globally in terms of subscribers. Its product offerings include 2G, 3G and 4G wireless services, mobile commerce, fixed-line services, high-speed DSL broadband, IPTV, DTH, enterprise services including national and international long-distance services to carriers.
