Movie on demand service BigFlix said inked a deal with IndiaCast Media Distribution, a joint venture between TV18 and Viacom18, for Internet rights of over 50 films.
BigFlix Business Head Shreyash Sigtia said, ‘as a part of the deal, BigFlix has acquired Internet rights of some films of Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Colors, which were released recently, along with the digital rights of some future releases. These include over 50 films, such as Inkaar, Oh My God, Department, Special 26, Aiyya, Jab We Met, Kidnap, Golmaal Returns, Life Partner and Luck.
BigFlix, which is a part of Reliance Entertainment Digital, has close to a million registered users and a library of 2,000 titles. "The deal helps us add some blockbuster titles we will be able to stream these films promptly after theatrical and satellite releases," Sigtia said.
