Aston extends partnership with Viaccess

Aston has announced an agreement for the integration of Viaccess' Embedded CAS (cardless CAS) solution into its full range of premium STBs and CAMs as well as the interoperability of its HbbTV front-end with Viaccess' back-end system.
The companies have organised a world premiere showcase at CABSAT MENA 2013 in Dubai. Aston's Xena HD Twin + will be demonstrated decrypting the operators' programmes with the Viaccess embedded CAS solution. The Xena HD Twin + embeds technological musts such as hybrid DVB-S2/IP, HD, PVR ready, dual tuner, HbbTV, multi-room, OTT and Push VOD-ready. The new agreement has a worldwide scope with a specific focus in the MENA region.

The deal is an extension of the existing long-term partnership between the two companies which has already led to Viaccess' technology card-based system integration in Aston's STBs and CAMs.
