The ongoing digitisation of cable television network will change the business ecosystem for Indian broadcasters and act as a catalyst for international players to enter the country, said Christopher Slaughter, chief executive officer of Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia.
Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) is an industry body with 130-member organisations working on promoting digital multi-channel television and video content across Asia. Slaughter was here for CASBAA's annual India forum. Slaughter said, "Digitisation process is the biggest shift in terms of the operating practices of India. This kind of change in the cable industry is unprecedented and it is just the beginning of the change. It is a bumpy ride but I am very confident that all the players in this market are embracing the change and working towards it."
