ACCESS and Verimatrix announce Initiative to Provide ‘Studio Confident’ Security for Advanced Media Sharing

ACCESS CO., LTD, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, and Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, announced that they will provide ‘studio confident’ security through the integration of Verimatrix ViewRight® security with the ACCESS NetFront™ Living Connect DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) Technology Component™ solution.
The collaboration is designed to make studios and other content owners confident that their most valuable content, such as early release HD movies, can be securely shared between devices and that all business model constraints can be maintained.

“Content owners will quite rightly not sanction the sharing of the most valuable content between devices until they are sure that it’s secure and that all business rules are adhered to: it’s in response to this that ACCESS and Verimatrix have joined forces to bring to market a ‘studio confident’ secured solution,” said Dr. Neale Foster, VP of Global Sales IA, ACCESS. “I look forward to working with Verimatrix to enable the media sharing of premium content to be both safe and profitable.”
“The ability to stream commercial media between devices is a powerful model for home content consumption and one that benefits from ‘studio confident’ security mechanisms that enable extensions of pay-TV content monetization,” said Petr Peterka, CTO, Verimatrix. “The collaboration of Verimatrix and ACCESS also aims to optimize the security approach across the range of content types and consumer propositions.”
