CQ- Nagpur Cable Ops demands to reduce STB rate

Orange City Cable Operators Bahu-uddeshiya Sanstha, Nagpur held a meeting of cable operators from across the state to discuss the hike in subscription rates per STB announced by MSOs. The meeting was held on 28 June, 2014 at   Empress Mill Road, Jageshwar Temple Jawal, Bajeria, Nagpur.
In the meeting the Association passed a resolution to demand reduction in per STB subscription rate increased by their respective Multi system operators (MSOs). They unanimously resolved that every cable operators urge his respective to reduce the subscription to earlier level. The release also said that no Cable Operator even collects 100 per cent subscription from its subscriber in a month. Hence the whole burden of increased rates will come on the operators.   
According to association cable operators in Nagpur are facing several problems which MSOs are not cognizant of. These problems include, difference in subscription rates charge by MSOs, Entertainment tax, increased staff salaries, increased maintenance cost and many more. It is difficult to collect these increased subscriptions from consumers, and pay to the MSOs, the Association opined the MSOs to roll back the increase.
