CQ- Javadekar urges Andhra CM to lift off ban on Jyoti TV Channel

The Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao regarding lifting of ban against the media channels TV9 and ABN channels in the state.
Javadekar said that the cable operators and MSOs do not have any right to ban the media channels and that it amounts to crime. He therefore suggested the Chief Minister to safeguard the interests of people and rights of the media in the state! Now the onus of taking action against the MSOs is of Chief Minister. TV9 channel was balcked out in the Teleangan state  after showing the elected Telangana State legislators in bad light and also passing derogatory comments on them in their Bullet News’ program aired on June 12th.

The Union Minister mentioned that there has been no response even after he has written letter to the Chief Secretary of the Telangana state asking him to take an initiative and settle the issue.
