CQ-Indore HC gives relief to MP Cable ops

Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on July 4, 2014 has given stay on increased subscription fees by multi system operators.
Earlier Malwa Cable Operator Sangh had filed a plea in HC, which was accepted by court on July 1. The decision was announced by the bench consisting Justice Ajit Singh Jee and Justice Kamar Jee. The court will hear the matter again on 16 July.
According to Malwa Cable Operators Sangh, and association of LCOs of Indore region, the MSOs have increased subscription twice raising it by 100 per cent each time since January 2014. Since it is impossible for LCOs to force subscribers to pay this increased subscription, they have requested the Court to stay the hike.
It is important to note that LCOs of Indore had earlier also filed petition in court regarding problems of cable operators, mandatory CAF form, Mandatory Digitalisation, MSOs monopoly, poor quality of STBs and inflated billing in DAS and other issues.
