Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) is back with its viewers’ choice popular film awards property Zee Cine Awards 2014. The 14th edition of the awards show will be for the first time simulcast on three channels—Zee TV, Zee Anmol and Zee Tamizh—on 23 February and later on other channels including Zee Café for the first time.
The company has set a target of Rs. 33 crore (Rs 330 million) from advertising. Last year, it had made Rs. 30 crore (Rs 300 million). “We are hoping to get the same (Rs 30 crore) from SD telecast. Another Rs. 2–3 crore will come from the HD feed,” ZEEL chief sales officer Ashish Sehgal told TelevisionPost.
Incidentally, compared to last year, the total ad inventory is reduced by 40 per cent because of the 12-minute ad cap.
For the 2014 edition, ZEEL has got Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to exclusively perform this year, while it will be hosted by Abhishek Bachchan. The ground event will take place on 8 February. After the simulcast on three channels, the show will be multicast on other channels, including Zee Café for the first time.
ZEEL, which reaches over 700+ million viewers across 169 countries, has hosted Cine Awards in Macau, Singapore, London, Mauritius and Dubai.
