Kerala cable TV services upgrade Conax security

A consortium of cable operators is embarking on a pilot project to deploy the new Conax cardless conditional access (CA) system combined with Coship set-top boxes (STBs), as part of the ongoing digitisation of India’s cable TV network.
Kerala Communicators Cable Ltd (KCCL), which represents 70% of the cable TV services in South West Indian state, currently uses the Conax Contego security back-end. Under the pilot, this will be upgraded to support the cardless CA system, along with Coship STBs with secure chipsets from ALi Corporation.

The new system will provide KCCL with the ability to integrate future digital offerings such as video-on-demand (VOD), multiscreen, and over-the-top (OTT) content viewing.
With the new solution, Conax is providing KCCL with the comprehensive and flexible tools for developing secure business models and capturing future growth.
