Zee Lamhe to launch on UK's Freeview

Zee Lamhe, the South Asian general entertainment channel which replaced Zee Café in summer 2013, is set to launch on the digital terrestrial Freeview service in Greater Manchester, UK.
The channel, which is already available to Sky Digital subscribers, is reportedly to extend its UK reach to 13 million homes with this carriage deal.

"The channel offers a distinct viewing experience by offering content that is not available anywhere else and it is outperforming other GEC channels that have been in the market for longer and beating them at certain slots since being BARB rated," Archana Kanade, business head – free-to-air channels, told BizAsia.
"Over 10% of Manchester's population is South Asian, with Freeview being a popular platform here. It is great that an even wider audience will now be able to enjoy the unique offerings of Lamhe."
Zee Lamhe will be available on Freeview as part of the Manchester Television Network.
