Foxtel will offer Australian consumers ‘triple play’ option by “late 2014”Pay TV giant Foxtel has revealed in a recent announcement that it will launch the obligatory entertainment-led 'triple play' packages - giving the Australian consumers the option of bundled Pay-TV, broadband and telephone services - in "late 2014."
The announcement made by Foxtel implies that the company will launch fixed-line telephony services as well as broadband Internet, packaged with its television product.  Foxtel will offer broadband Internet on ADSL network and the National Broadband Network (NBN).

Though Foxtel has not made any official disclosure about the pricing of its 'triple play' packages, the company's CEO Richard Freudenstein that the announcement of the 'late next year' launch of the packages marks a "transformative" move for the Foxtel group.
The announcement of the 'triple play' offering by Foxtel comes close on the heels of a last-week prediction by The Australian that the much-prolonged discussions between Foxtel's 50 percent shareholders, Telstra and News Corp Australia, have ended in the approval of Foxtel's 'triple play' packages scheduled for a "late 2014" launch.
