The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) will organize and host a national-level Student Film Festival of India (SFFI) and the first national students' film awards from April 19 to 24.
The events, organized in partnership with directorate of film festivals in the ministry of information and broadcasting and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, are envisaged as equivalents of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the national film awards respectively. It is an attempt by the institute to encourage and celebrate film-making as an art amongst young student film makers of the country.
