Kalaignar TV chief M Ramesh Prabha quits

President of DMK's first family-owned Kalaignar TV Network, M Ramesh Prabha, has resigned from the post citing personal reasons. 

Prahbha took over as the President of the Kalaignar TV, replacing Sharad Kumar, who along with DMK President M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi was arrested in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case. 

He said it was during his tenure, the channel launched its 24 hour channel "Murasu" targeted at individuals looking for old Tamil film songs. 

Prabha, an alumni of Anna University here and Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, currently runs Galaxy Communication and Chhaya Advertising. 

According to sources, Karunanidhi's relative Amirtham who was initially handling the day-to-day operations of the channel, would succeed Prabha.
