The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a notice on 17th June to all ministries, Departments under Government of India, PSUs and statutory and autonomous bodies, inviting applications for the post of advisor (broadcasting and cable services) on deputation on Foreign Service terms at TRAI’s New Delhi headquarters for a period of two years. The pay scale for the post would range from Rs 37,400 to Rs 67,000 plus GP of Rs 10,000.
The work profile of the applicants will cover general management along with economic and social dimensions of all media forms. The economic dimension will include work related to wholesale and retail tariffs and interconnection issues. The officer will also have to work closely with the government to implement cable TV digitisation.
In media sector, his/ her work will encompass cable TV (digital and analogue), direct-to-home, IPTV, terrestrial radio, radio and public broadcasting services.
TRAI has asked all applicants to come forward along with attested copies of annual confidential reports (ACRs) for the last five years and vigilance/disciplinary clearance of eligible candidates.
Applications must be sent to senior research officer (A&P) at TRAI headquarters on or before 3rd August 2015.
The authority said that the post is exempted from the rule of immediate absorption up to 23 January 2016 by the Department of Pensioner & Pensioners Welfare for appointment on deputation.
Officers in selection grade with four years of regular service in that grade or Grade A officers having 17 years of regular service in Group A with at least four years of regular service may be in the selection grade.
The applicants should be a master’s/bachelor degree holder in Business Administration/Economics/Commerce/Engineering/Law/Science/Humanities from a recognised university or membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Working Accountants of India.
