Kris Gopalakrishnan elected as new President of CII

Co-Founder and Executive Co-Chairman of Infosys Kris Gopalakrishnan has been elected as the President of the industry body CII for the year 2013-14. 

According to the statement of CII, Kris succeeds Adi Godrej, Chairman of the Godrej Group. A Padma Bhushan recipient, Gopalakrishnan was recently voted as the top CEO in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives, and selected as one of the winners of the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia. Alumni of IIT, he is also on the Board of Governors at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
