MCOF to organise an educational Seminar for LMOs on November 23

With Last Mile Operators (LMOs) viewing digitisation as a threat and legal tussles between them and Multi System Operators (MSOs) on the rise, the Maharashtra Cable Operators Association (MCOF) has organised an educational and business titled “Challenges & Opportunities Post DAS” in Mumbai.

The business education seminar will be held on 23 November from 9 am to 5 pm at the Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankool in Vile Parle (East) suburban Mumbai. 

“For so many years, the LMOs have been operating on trial and error method without any proper training. However, post DAS the situation has become complicated and the operators need to stay in tune of the changing environment. The operators need to be trained about new technologies, call centers, paperwork and backend infrastructure,” says MCOF president Arvind Prabhoo. 

While LMOs from across India have been invited, Prabhoo is expecting operators from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra to turn up in large numbers. He is also anticipating sizeable turnout from neighbouring states of Goa, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. 

The organisers have reached out to LMOs through their respective federations and word of mouth publicity. With a seating arrangement that can accommodate almost 1,000 attendees, Prabhoo is hoping for a full house what with the registration fee being just Rs. 500 per head. 

Apart from challenges and opportunities post DAS, the seminar will also cover topics such as, Challenges & Opportunities Post DAS, Maximising Broadband Penetration (The Future of Cable Operators), Optimised Network Architecture in DAS & Future Proof, Value Added Services (VAS), Global Industry Standards and Trends, Availing Finance Option, Identifying Right Equipment, Special Discounted Price Supply of Spares & Materials, Employee Training, CPE Maintenance and Servicing/Customer Care/Back Office.
