Indian Graduates launch Mobile-based TV Channel

A group of engineering graduates from Thiruvananthapuram have launched a TV channel that could be accessed through mobile phones to promote local news and events.
The channel, titled 'We 4 U', is the first 2G/3G mobile television channel from the capital city, Aravid G S, one of its founders, told mediapersons on 29 July 2013.

Viewers could access the innovative channel anywhere from the world with their mobile phones, he said.
"This is an era of mobile revolution and so we have decided to launch a television channel based on mobile technology. The channel could also be viewed on computer systems, laptops, iPads and tablets but not in television," he said.
He said their channel, which is going on air on test base now, would focus on local events and news like the programmes of residence associations and youth in the initial stage.
The 24x7 channel is supported on all platforms like java and android.
Viewers could access it on normal rates, Aravid said, adding that, they were planning to have tie-ups with other television networks for expansion.
