Museum on Indian movie industry to be set up, says official

The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting plans to set up a museum at Mumbai's Gulshan Mahal, a top ministry official said.
"We are working on setting up a museum based on the history and future of the Indian film industry at Mumbai's Gulshan Mahal," Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry's Secretary Uday Kumar Varma told reporters.

On the occasion of Republic Day, a tableau of Indian Cinema will be depicted on the occasion of its centenary year, Varma said.
In order to restore old films, Rs 300 crore is being spent on digitising prints, he said.
When asked if the ministry plans to frame conditions for the issuance of Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) advertisements to only those newspapers who implement wage board's recommendations for journalists and non-journalists, he said, "At present, we are not considering inclusion of any extraneous factors in this regard," he said.
