Sales of LG Electronics' WebOS-enabled Smart+ TVs have passed the one million mark since their launch in March, the South Korean company says.
LG predicts sales will reach ten million units by the first half of 2015.
"Reaching the one million mark in just three months is a significant achievement in the TV industry," said In-kyu Lee, head and senior VP, TV division, LG Home Entertainment."Rather than continuing to add more and more functions into our smart TVs that few people will ever use, we've decided to focus on simplicity with our 2014 Smart+ TVs with WebOS. Consumers seem to share our view that this is the right direction for the evolution of smart TVs going forward."
The company says its Smart+ TV models will be available in over 150 markets worldwide by the end of June 2014.
