Colors inks pact with IPL

The most popular Hindi general entertainment channel Colors has entered into a deal with Indian Premiere League (IPL).
Under the three-year licensing deal, the GEC will be able to launch a slew of entertainment programme focused on IPL and its cricket players. The new programming will include special editions of the existing shows such as ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi IPL special’ besides ‘IPL Awards Night’ that will be telecast on various Viacom 18 channels on April 23, 2010.

Big B joins ‘small’ B on Bingo

Rakhi Sawant to sue censor board

The item bombshell Rakhi Sawant has decided to move the court against Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) that had cut a word ‘Kamine’ from her latest song ‘Kamine Tera Bhoot Chad Gaya Re’ of her latest video album ‘Jhagde’.
“When they can pass entire film titled Kaminey what sense does it make to delete the word Kaminey from my video?” argues Rakhi who is also the co-producer of the video album.

DD to start programme for specially-abled

The public broadcaster Doordarshan is all set to start a new series ‘Tum Dena Saath Mera’ dealing with the issue of acceptance of the specially-abled people on its national channel from November 23. The series will be aired from Monday to Wednesday at 9.30 pm.
Set in culturally rich and colourful rural Punjab, It is a story of two such physically challenged people – a blind girl and a mute boy – and their life, bravely facing troubles and turbulence. The problems are compounded by their inability to communicate with each other freely. The story highlights the social stigma and the mindset of the parents of such children and how through sheer determination and family support, these children make their mark.

STAR to launch new series

‘Fuse reality with fiction’ seems to be the new mantra of Star. The Hindi General Entertainment channel Star Plus is all set to launch a new show from November 4. The show is produced by Sphere Origins.
The new fiction series titled ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ is set against the backdrop of a remote village in North India. It portrays the journey of Sarju (Saurabh Pandey), who is saddled with heavy family debts leaves his village to make a living in a city away from his family.

Rajshri’s ‘Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli’ set to replace ‘Shree’ on Zee TV

Rajshree Productions’ new family drama series titled ‘Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli’ is all set to replace the currently running supernatural series ‘Shree’ which will end-up on November 12.
The new show which will start airing from November 16 at 10:30 pm on weekdays will have a mix of lavish sets, senior actors and compositions. It is the story about a daughter’s immense love and respect for her father and his pride. The new show will highlight the family relationships and the strength to stand by each other even in difficult times.

Naxatra News- a 24 hour Oriya news channel to be launched on 4th july

A new 24- hour News Channel in Oriya is set to be launched . Naxatra News channel, promoted by Prabhat Ranjan Mallick who has several business interests in Orissa, is scheduled to go on air from July 4.
This is Mallick’s first venture in the media space. The channel, which is headquartered in Bhubaneshwar, has already got its license from the I&B Ministry.
