NDTV’s news operations biz revenue up, net loss widens marginally

NDTV Ltd’s news business has not seen growth like its peers in the quarter ended 30 September. The company, which runs news channels NDTV 24X7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit, reported a mere 4% increase in its standalone income from operations from the earlier year to Rs. 81.58 crore ( Rs. 815.8 million). 
Standalone net loss has also widened to Rs. 16.52 crore ( Rs. 165.2 million) compared to Rs. 15.25 crore ( Rs. 152.5 million) a year ago. 

In the trailing quarter, the standalone net loss was Rs. 18.88 crore ( Rs. 188.8 million). 
NDTV suffered a loss from operations (before other income, finance cost and exceptional items) of Rs. 20.11 crore ( Rs. 201.1 million) compared to Rs. 17.48 crore ( Rs. 174.8 million) a year ago. 
Expenses also saw a 6% jump to Rs. 101.69 crore ( Rs. 1.02 billion).
