UPASS collaborates with Media Nucleus for subscriber billing

MUMBAI: UPASS, a leading front-end automation for cable, said it has successfully integrated its electronic bill collection solution with the subscriber management system (SMS) of Media Nucleus. This will enable cable TV operators to bridge the gap between the collection at the local cable operator (LCO) level and the SMS at the multi-system operator (MSO) end. 

The purpose is to have an enterprise-scale data integration through mobile devices between what is happening in the ground and the backend of the operators.

Our system benefits end users quickly and with self-service, regardless of data volumes and variety, or whether the data is on-premise or in the cloud.” 

Media Nucleus Director Technology and Delivery Rajiv Tomer said, “We have been providing the core solution of SMS and were looking at integration services to enable collection at the ground level become a part of our solution to our clients. UPASS having an industry benchmark solution gave us the right option to be a go to market providing end to end Technology with a single integrated platform. We have enabled it in such a way that operators can provide the basic handset to the collection agents which gets integrated with our SMS.” 

With this integration, operators will be able to give required data access to local operators/collection agents through mobile devices plugged in with Bluetooth printer. The collection entries can be made in cash or cheque mode and relevant data will be passed to SMS server in real-time. 

UPASS has used their cloud model, which acts as data bridge between mobile device and the SMS server. Media Nucleus CAMS (for large MSOs) and CAMS Express (for Tier 2 and Rural Areas of the DAS roll-out) caters to well over 50 head-ends.
