Siddhartha Birla, founder and Chairman of Xpro India Ltd, and Chairman Digjam Ltd, will be the next President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Birla will head the chamber in 2014.
FICCI said that Birla will assume the office of FICCI President at the conclusion of its 86th Annual General Meeting on December 21 when he will take charge from Naina Lal Kidwai, the present President.
Besides Xpro and Digjam, Birla has interests in the financial sector. He is a Government nominee on the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School, he is a trustee on some family-owned educational and philanthropic bodies, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani.
