UTV Television, which is completing 20 years of operations this year, is in a revival mode.
After losing share to other production houses, the company is again firming up its fiction and non-fiction properties.
The production house will be launching a new daily fiction property on Star Plus in September. The yet-to-be named show is a remake of Sun TV’s popular Tamil property Kolangal.
“We are remaking Kolangal, one of the longest running and highest rated shows on Sun TV. The show is a co-production with Chennai-based Vikatan,” UTV Television COO Santosh Nair said.
UTV Television is already producing Rakt Sambandh for Imagine TV, a Hindi remake of Gemini channel’s Telugu show Rakta Sambandham.
The other show which UTV Television will be launching soon is Rakhi Ka Insaaf, a co-production with I AM Productions. The show is an attempt to provide a platform for common people to voice their issues and problems. Rakhi Sawant will look for a resolution in the show.
UTV Television also has two more shows in the pipeline, which will be aired on the Group's channel UTV Bindass.
